The I/O brush is a virtual brush that allows you to work with new types of 'ink'. The system contains a small camera in the center of the brush that films a surface that can then be used to paint new instances of the filmed surface pattern. Both still images as well as moving sequences can then be used in a painting. The developers of the system have argued that this can lead to more creativity of children in kindergarten.
How
can people be motivated to take normal stairs? How about making it fun? The fun theory have taken on the challenge to get people to move more by changing the stairs of a metrostation into piano keys. By
walking the stair you trigger sensors that lead to piano key sounds.
A knock detection device which you place on top of your door lock and when given the right knocking combination it opens the door. New knocking combinations can be recorded with a maximum length of 20 knocks.
Can be useful when you don't have access to your key or if a friend need to enter your home and you are not there. Maybe not the safest lock installation as the knock combination easily can be overheard.
Small computers that display graphics such as photos or videos. They can sense how they are being be moved around and the location to one another. By arranging them in different combinations you can create small games or music melodies. It's also possible to manipulate graphics, like changing color or picture.
The project aims to Liberate
from physical constraints of time and space. The system can basically be described as a magnetic field which allows objects to freely
float in space. This allows for free manipulation of the objects. The system blends the virtual and physical world. Objects can be virtually enriched (through projection) and can enrich the visual world. For example by casting a digital shadow.
The system works either with digital programming, manual programming or a mixture. For example, balls can orbit around other balls in the environment in a pre-programmed fashion. In manual programming gestures can be recorded. In the hybrid mode manual actions (moving the ball in the environment) can influence a pre-programmed action.
The properties of the system make it useful
in education and architectural planning.
The doormat have been on tour at a gallery in Gamla Stan.
