Technology
The technology in this project is a combination of analog overhead projectors and digital computer video projectors. Custom interactive software, computer vision system, synthetic graphics and sounds that are tightly coupled to the forms and movements of the performers’ actions. You can call it a kind of augmented-reality.
Motivation & Strengths
We like this project because of its playfulness. The system has small physical constraint, all you need is your hands or parts of your body to generate sounds. Everything you do is created in the air so there is freedom of movement. You can use all kinds of closed shapes and we think these small limitations inspires creativity. The system is very artistic, intuitive and easy to use by everybody. Great possibilites to extend it with new features.
Weaknesses?
The setup is complicated, stationary and quite expensive.
How would we improve it?
Add more options to change sounds and colors of the projections. A bigger surface to allow for multiple people interacting at the same time would enhance the user-experience.
