We all take it for granted using the Internet for browsing after information and we use touch screens and smart phones in our everyday life. Individuals with visibility impairments does not have the same options as most of us do.

TeslaTouch is a technology designed to provide tactile sensation to moving fingers on touch screens much like the Braille (the "dots") does on normal paper. Below is a conceptual image of a TeslaTouch system:

TeslaTouch uses no motors or moving parts, instead relying on a conductive layer coated with an insulating layer. The finger rests on the insulating laying and, when a voltage difference is applied between the finger and the conductive layer an attractive force is induced. This attractive force can be manipulated by using different levels of voltage and it yields more friction for the finger.

This product can one day be a helpful tool for visibility impaired individuals.
